The module presents an array of technical tools and modern methodology to teach cybersecurity related content while combining it with fundamental pedagogical principles. Key Details
This module is delivered in hybrid format, as a combination of online, in-person and self-learning activities. The module uses innovative hybrid learning methods that combine live (synchronous) and self-paced (asynchronous) activities, with particular focus on practical activities and real-world scenarios connected to cybersecurity. Expert tutors guide students through the material, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience.
The module aims to prepare students to identify weaknesses, raise awareness and develop training programs in the realm of cybersecurity education. Toward this goal the module employs class participation activities and practical assignments.

Module leaders
Laura Dragomir is an Associate Professor in the Computer Science and Engineering Department at POLITEHNICA Bucharest. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science, with a specialization in the security of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). Her current research focuses on Internet of Things (IoT), Mobile Operating Systems and cybersecurity.
She has extensive experience as a researcher on national and international projects. Her work in these projects spans various fields, including WSNs, IoT, networking, indoor localization, and cybersecurity.
She has collaborated with VirtualMetrix Inc. as a researcher, focusing on mobile malware detection. Additionally, she served as a researcher for the Academy of Romanian Scientists, contributing to the field of IoT.
For the past five years, she has been an academic ambassador in collaboration with Google/Fitbit, where she has organized summer schools and workshops, and mentored students on topics such as the IoT, embedded systems, and mobile operating systems.
