Digital4Security Shares Best Practices at Digital Skills EU Days 2026

Digital4Security was represented at Digital Skills EU Days 2026, held in Brussels from 29 June to 1 July 2026. The event brought together projects, policymakers and organisations working to strengthen digital skills and support Europe’s digital transformation.

Representing Digital4Security consortium partner Schuman Associates, Sabrina Di Ruggiero presented the project’s best practices during the session “Recruitment as Digital Infrastructure”. The discussion explored the important role that recruitment, talent development and workforce planning play in building Europe’s digital capacity.

Digital4Security also contributed to the Recruitment Sub-cluster White Paper, which brings together practical recommendations and examples from EU-funded projects. The paper aims to help strengthen Europe’s digital talent ecosystem by supporting more effective approaches to attracting, developing and retaining people with advanced digital skills.

These issues are particularly important for cybersecurity. Europe needs not only more cybersecurity professionals, but also stronger cooperation between education providers, employers, policymakers and training organisations to ensure that skills development reflects real labour-market needs.

Digital Skills EU Days provided an important opportunity for Digital4Security to exchange experiences with other Digital Europe Programme projects and contribute to wider discussions on Europe’s competitiveness, technological sovereignty and future skills needs. The event also included the European Digital Skills Awards and the launch of new Skills Academies focusing on Quantum Technologies, Generative AI and Virtual Worlds.

The Digital Skills and Jobs Platform plays a central role in connecting this growing European community. It provides access to training opportunities, learning resources, funding information, events and initiatives from across Europe, while helping individuals and organisations contribute to the EU’s Digital Decade targets.
