Innovation, Compliance and Training
The University of Brescia (UNIBS) was established in 1982. It offers a wide range of educational programmes with Bachelor and Master of Science (MSc) degrees, postgraduate technical courses, specialization schools and Ph.D. programs. With its 652 permanent academic staff, offers 28 three-years degree courses, 26 Single cycle master’s and master’s degree programmes, 46 specialization schools and 13 Doctoral Degree programs. The student population is currently about 15000 members. UNIBS promotes initiatives aimed at internationalization, European and international exchange agreements and cooperation programs to encourage student and researcher mobility.
Our contribution
to the Digital4Security project
The University of Brescia will contribute in DIGITAL4Security project to create an innovative and marketled European Masters Programme in Cybersecurity Management & Data Sovereignty that will equip European SMEs and Companies across multiple sectors with the cybersecurity management, regulatory and technical skills they need to prevent and respond to existing and emerging cybersecurity threats, helping to safeguard European industries from cyber-attacks, protecting our economic prosperity, and supporting long-term competitiveness and growth.
The University of Brescia will contribute to the overall objectives of the DIGITAL 4Security by fasttracking high numbers of graduates into high demand roles from ENISA’s European Cybersecurity Skills Framework (ECSF), filling crucial occupational profiles that are critical to the ongoing security and success of European businesses. Our objective within the project is to reskill and upskill graduates, professionals, managers, and business leaders to become ‘Cyber Confident’ and empowered with the cybersecurity management expertise they need to strengthen their cybersecurity infrastructure and implement robust incident prevention and management procedures.
Our mission
The University of Brescia hosts a national cybersecurity network and offers several courses focusing in legal and organizational aspects of cybersecurity: Cyber security and Big Data, Big Data, IPRS and Data Protection and Law and Data.
The University’s Department of Law will be directly involved in this project to provide its outstanding expertise in the legal framework governing data protection, big data and AI. It will give an invaluable contribution mainly to WP 2, 3 and 4 of the present project.
